3/20 Coalition To Host Events In Remembrance Of Osaze Osagie March 19 & 20

State College’s 3/20 Coalition will host two events to honor and celebrate the life of Osaze Osagie, who was fatally shot four years ago by State College police.

On Sunday, members of the community are invited to protest and march in solidarity with the group. The march will begin at noon on March 19 outside of the State College Municipal Building, located on South Allen Street. The event will finish outside Osagie’s former apartment on Easterly Parkway.

An intimate reflection of Osagie’s life will be held at 7 p.m. on March 20 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza in downtown State College. The event aims to “honor the life of Osaze, reflect, and recommit ourselves to the fight for justice.”

In honor of this year marking four years since Osagie’s passing, both events carry the phrase, “‘Four’ward, Not ‘Four’gotten.”

The 3/20 Coalition was formed shortly after Osagie’s death. The group is “committed to working collectively toward social and racial justice in the State College community.” Several goals of the organization include achieving justice for Osagie and addressing policies that foster racial inequities within Centre County.

More information about the 3/20 Coalition and the upcoming events can be found on the group’s Instagram, Facebook, or website.
