Teaparker Tea House Hosting ‘One With Tea’ 2023 Korean Tea Exhibition
The Teaparker Tea House in 034 Ritenour is a student-run, on-campus tea house available for members of the Penn State community to enjoy. The tea house is also home to the Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony Club (GongFu Cha), the Japanese Tea Ceremony Club (Chanoyu), and the Korean Tea Ceremony Club (Darye).
The tea house is open to the public during weekdays and offers a variety of specialty teas hand-brewed by Penn State students.
This week, Teaparker Tea House is hosting the annual Korean Tea Exhibition “One with Tea,” which celebrates the art of Korean tea brewing. Korean Tea Masters Hyoam, Jang Ik Joon, and Kim Wan Jun will host presentations about the history of Korean tea and culture through the weekend through April 9.
Events will include numerous workshops and lectures from the Tea Masters on the traditional Korean tea ceremony.
The 2023 Korean Tea Exhibition Lineup:
April 7
The Korean Tea House will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for students, faculty, and the public.
3 p.m. — A lecture on the history of Korean tea pottery and wares.
5 p.m. — A lecture on the diversity of Korean tea wares.
April 8
11 a.m. — A lecture on the uniqueness of Korean tea.
2 p.m. — A lecture and workshop on the making of Korean tea.
April 9
11 a.m. — A lecture on Korean Tea history.
2 p.m. — The Tea Masters will introduce the World Tea Expo in Korea, which features tea events such as the International Tea Cupping Contest, K-TEA Blending Contest, World Tea Forum, and more.
