Gameday Coverage: 2023 Blue-White Game

Penn State football is back.

After the team’s Rose Bowl victory in Pasadena earlier this year, the Nittany Lions are returning to Beaver Stadium for the annual Blue-White Game today.

Following a change to the game’s format last year, James Franklin feels that he has enough players on his roster to put together a traditional spring game. Here’s everything that you’ll want to know ahead of this year’s scrimmage.

Television

This year’s game will kick off at 2 p.m. on the Big Ten Network. Connor Onion and former Penn State defensive tackle Matt Millen will be on the call, while former Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin will be down on the field.

Weather

Saturday’s weather is looking warm and rainy. AccuWeather projects a 65% chance of rain in State College in the afternoon. The temperature should hover around 70 for most of the day, so don’t dress too warm. A chance of lightning isn’t completely out of the equation either, so make sure that you’ll be ready to get to safety if necessary.

Last Meeting

Last year’s Blue-White Game didn’t have traditional teams, so instead Defense defeated Offense 17-13. In the prior Blue-White matchup in 2019, Blue defeated White 24-7.
