Lady Lions Hire Tiffany Swoffard As Assistant Coach

Penn State women’s basketball announced that it hired Tiffany Swoffard as an assistant coach Friday. Swoffard comes to Penn State with 20 years of coaching experience, which includes time as an assistant coach at five college programs.

Swoffard comes to Penn State after four years as an assistant coach at Miami of Ohio, where she coached six Redhawks to All-MAC honors and served as the recruiting coordinator. She also spent her final season overseeing the team’s offense, which shot at a 42.8% clip from the field in 2022-23.

Before her time in Oxford, Swoffard spent four years at Toledo, where she recruited multiple All-MAC selections and helped guide the Rockets to a 2018 MAC Tournament Championship, a subsequent NCAA Tournament appearance, and two WNIT bids.

Swoffard was an assistant coach at Mercer for five seasons before Toledo. With the Bears, Swoffard recruited WNBA Draft selection Kahlia Lawrence and helped Mercer to its first 20-win season in more than 20 years.

Prior to Mercer, Swoffard worked as an assistant coach at Arkansas Fort-Smith, where she helped the Lions to multiple 20-win seasons and a top-five national ranking.

Before her time with the Lions, Swoffard was a graduate assistant at Rowan University and the head coach of the Georgia Metros AAU team.

Swoffard played college ball at Austin Peay State University from 1998 to 2002, and she won two consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Tournaments and secured bids to the successive NCAA Tournaments.
