Former Penn State Linebacker Bobby Walchak Commits To Campbell

After 51 days in the transfer portal, former Penn State linebacker Bobby Walchak announced his commitment to Campbell Monday morning.

Walchak will head to Buies Creek with three years of eligibility remaining. He announced his intent to transfer just six days following the Nittany Lions’ Blue-White Game.

Walchak arrived in Happy Valley as a preferred walk-on in the recruiting Class of 2021. Through two seasons in blue and white, the linebacker never played a down for Penn State.

The Fighting Camels are fresh off a 5-6 record in 2022. Campbell went 2-3 in the Big South and registered wins over Charleston Southern and Robert Morris.

The redshirt sophomore was one of a few Nittany Lions to enter the transfer portal following the team’s Blue-White Game. Walchak joined Jimmy Christ and Storm Duck in the transfer portal following the spring game. Both have since committed to Virginia and Louisville, respectively.
