Three-Star Offensive Lineman Deryc Plazz Decommits From Penn State Football
James Franklin just lost his first commit from the Class of 2024.
Three-star offensive lineman Deryc Plazz decommitted from Penn State football, he announced Thursday on Twitter. Plazz’s announcement comes less than two weeks after he announced his intentions to play for the Nittany Lions.
“I have come to realize that I rushed into this decision without giving it the careful consideration it deserves,” Plazz wrote in his Twitter post. “Choosing the right path for my future and my family is of utmost importance, and I feel it is necessary to take a step back at this time.”
Plazz committed to the Nittany Lions on June 4, as one of three players to commit to the program that day after their official visits on June 2. Three-star edge rusher Xavier Gilliam and four-star cornerback Dejuan Lane remain committed to the program.
The Nittany Lions now have 16 players committed from the current recruiting cycle. Penn State’s recruiting class remains ranked No. 7 in the nation after Plazz’s departure, according to 247Sports.
