Bo Nickal To Face Valentine Woodburn For July 8 UFC Match

Bo Nickal is back.

The Penn State wrestling legend has found a new opponent for his next UFC bout on July 8, his manager Malki Kawa announced Tuesday via Twitter. Nickal will take on Valentine Woodburn in less than a week’s time after his first opponent, Tresean Gore, withdrew from the contest due to injury.

Nickal’s fight against Gore was originally scheduled in April after Nickal opened his UFC career with a first-round submission against Jamie Pickett. Nickal is undefeated in all UFC competitions after his win against Pickett and his victories in “Dana White’s Contender Series,” giving him an overall record of 4-0.

While Gore only held a record of 5-2, Nickal’s next opponent may give him a better challenge. Woodburn, who was originally slated for an August 29 fight but backed out to fight Nickal, holds a record of 7-0 in his UFC career.

While at Penn State, Nickal won three national championships and finished with a record of 120-3. When he finished his collegiate career, Nickal continued to train out of State College for his UFC bouts.
