Penn State Transportation Services Announces Changes To Campus Shuttle & Red Link Routes

Penn State Transportation Services announced route changes for both the Campus Shuttle and the Red Link Tuesday.

A campus-wide survey revealed riders’ opinions on Penn State transit, which resulted in the service changes that students and staff will encounter this fall. Effective Monday, August 14, some stops will be added and some will be removed in an effort to prioritize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

If you’re planning your schedule for the upcoming semester and wondering if you can make that 15-minute break work, here are some things to consider.

Campus Shuttle

Stops at the Data Center, Redifer Commons, and Nittany Apartments will be removed, but there will be new stops at the following locations:

  • West Deck
  • West 1 Building (westbound; eastbound will open after building construction has been completed)
  • Innovation Hub
  • Reber Building
  • Hosler Building
  • West Halls
  • Pattee Transit Center (eastbound)
  • Forum
  • Pavilion Theatre
  • Mount Nittany Medical Center
  • Centre Medical Sciences Building
  • Innovation Park at Lubert Building, Penn Stater, 331 Building, Materials Research, and Outreach Building

The new route will run 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday from West Deck to Innovation Park. Stops will be served every 20 minutes until 6 p.m. when service will only occur every 40 minutes.

Red Link

There will no longer be Red Link stops at the Athletic Administration Building, Mount Nittany Medical Center, Centre Medical Sciences Building, Orchard Road, or Innovation Park. The new route will run from 6:45 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon to 10 p.m. on Sundays, all from West Deck to the Jordan East parking lot.

Lyft

If you need to get to Mount Nittany Medical Center, Innovation Park, or Centre Medical Sciences building after 8 p.m. or on weekends, an anticipated program with Lyft will give Penn Staters credits to travel between these locations.
