Gameday Coverage: No. 7 Penn State vs. Delaware

Penn State football is 1-0, folks.

After the Nittany Lions’ 38-15 win over West Virginia to kick off the season, they face Delaware at Beaver Stadium Saturday. After the program started off the season with a win over a Power Five program, James Franklin’s side now moves to take on FCS’ Fightin’ Blue Hens.

Penn State is heavily favored in the matchup, so much so that the game won’t be broadcast on traditional cable networks for the first time since it played Kent State in 2003. With the Nittany Lions certainly feeling confident about picking up a second win, here’s everything you need to know ahead of Saturday.

Television

Saturday’s game is set for a noon kickoff on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service. For those who haven’t already purchased the service and want to watch the game, Peacock costs $5.99 a month, or $1.99 a month for 12 months with a student discount.

Brendan Burke will be on play-by-play duties for Peacock, while former Penn State star Allen Robinson will be the game’s analyst. Zora Stephenson will report from the field, and former Big Ten referee Reggie Smith will act as rules analyst.

Radio

Penn State Sports Network — Steve Jones, Jack Ham, and Brian Tripp
Local: 99.5 & 103.7 FM/1450 AM, Sirius/XM/Internet: 204/98/967

Weather

Temperatures should cool off for gameday, with kickoff temperatures at 73 degrees before rising a few degrees by the end of the night, according to AccuWeather. Clouds are also predicted throughout, with rain possible in the earlier part of the contest.

Last Meeting

This is the first meeting between Penn State and Delaware.

Injuries

After seeing limited time on the field against West Virginia, Omari Evans still seems to be listed as questionable, per James Franklin. Center Hunter Nourzad had some “bumps and bruises” that limited his playing time last week, but it sounds like Nourzad is recovering well. Coziah Izzard and Amin Vanover were both ruled out for Penn State’s matchup against the Mountaineers, but neither Franklin nor the program has provided updates on either player.

Betting Lines

There are no betting lines for this week’s matchup.
