Penn State Men’s Soccer Jumps Six Spots To No. 19 In United Soccer Coaches Poll

Penn State men’s soccer jumped six spots to No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches weekly poll Tuesday. After breaking back into the top 25 in week five, the Nittany Lions are now steadily among the nation’s best.

Penn State is 6-1-3 in overall play and 2-0-1 in conference matches after another undefeated week in the books. It faced out-of-conference opponent Howard on Wednesday, which resulted in a huge come-from-behind 3-1 victory.

In that match, the Nittany Lions went down 1-0 before scoring three goals in the final 20 minutes.

Following that, Penn State traveled to East Lansing, Michigan, to take on then-No. 14 Michigan State, where the Nittany Lions earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw.

Penn State will aim to continue its undefeated streak in Big Ten play when it returns to Happy Valley to challenge Indiana at noon on Saturday, October 7, at Jeffrey Field.
