[Photo Story] Penn State Men’s Soccer’s 2023 Season

After earning a share of the Big Ten regular-season title and falling to Indiana 1-0 in the Big Ten Tournament final, Penn State men’s soccer was shockingly left out of the NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately for the Nittany Lions, that means their season is now over.

While it ended more abruptly than fans and the team might’ve hoped for, there were plenty of good moments and memories to look back on from this season. To do so, we compiled some of our photographers’ best shots from Penn State men’s soccer’s 2023 season.

As always, the Nittany Lions played their hearts out this season.

There was never a dull moment. Penn State brought its intensity every single game and closed the season with a 10-4-5 record and a 4-2-2 conference showing.

The Nittany Lions had no trouble finding the back of the net this season and outscored their opponents 33-15 while registering 233 shots during the campaign.

And with all those goals came some pretty awesome celebrations…

…and even more celebrations.

The team had a couple of chances from the penalty spot this season, too.

Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year Kris Shakes had a phenomenal season and kept the Nittany Lions above water in a few games and saved two penalties in the Big Ten Tournament semifinal to send his team to the title game.

As always, the Park Avenue Army was there to cheer on the Nittany Lions.

This may have been the last we see of some of our favorite Nittany Lions, but we’ll always be grateful for the memories.
