[Photo Story] Penn State Women’s Volleyball’s 2023 Season

Following its defeat by Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament, Penn State women’s volleyball’s season is officially over. While it didn’t end the way the team might’ve hoped, the Nittany Lions had some fun upsets, thrilling victories, and a decent run in the NCAA Tournament.

As always, our photographers were at Rec Hall for every home match to capture all the action. Let’s look back at the season through some of our favorite photos.

There were lots of smiles from the Nittany Lions this season.

Don’t let the smiles fool you, though. These lions play tough.

Penn State was money with its services this year. It recorded 141 aces throughout the season in contrast to just 100 aces tallied by its opponents.

To have so much success at home, the Nittany Lions had to bring down the hammer a few times. Katie Schumacher-Cawley’s group registered 1,608 kills throughout the season.

And with those kills came some awesome celebrations.

No celebration would be complete without some support from the bench!

As they say, the best offense is a good defense.

With a 13-2 record at home, there was no shortage of action on either side of the ball.

As always, Rec Hall was filled with some of Penn State’s most enthusiastic supporters.
