Pure Barre State College Sets Grand Opening For January 22

Pure Barre, a popular fitness franchise, is set to open its State College location on January 22. The grand opening welcomes the public and will offer a free first class.

Founded in 2001, Pure Barre is North America’s most well-known and established barre franchise and promises patrons a unique blend of yoga, pilates, and dance. Pure Barre offers isometric movements with a fresh take on strength, agility, and flexibility. The workout is described as a low-impact, high-intensity method designed to be sustainable to practice every day.

As the largest barre brand, the studio offers four class formats including introductory, classic barre, interval training, and resistance training. This offers a range of options to accommodate dancers of all levels.

The new location will be located at 17 Colonnade Way Suite 107, in between Crumbl Cookies and The UPS Store. The studio will be open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The fitness bar will also house a boutique with items from Lululemon, Alo, Free People, Spiritual Gangster, and Beyond Yoga.

Pure Barre is brought to State College by husband and wife Aaron and Erin Porta, who have a background in fitness management and entrepreneurial business.

“I went to college in Pittsburgh, but I’ve just always admired the community that is Penn State. It’s unreal. It’s such an incredible, tight-knit community,” Ruggles told Onward State in October. “That just excites me to know that people are going to be in Pure Barre, and I’m able to be a part of that. I feel so lucky, too. Penn State is so cool.”
