Penn State Women’s Hockey Commit Sets Canadian U18 Record

Penn State women’s hockey commit Abby Stonehouse set a record for most shorthanded goals in a single game at the U18 Women’s World Championship.

Stonehouse recorded two short-handed goals and three assists to beat Czechia 8-1 on Sunday.

The Ontario, Canada, native committed to Penn State in October 2022. Stonehouse will join a talented Nittany Lion team that won the CHA Tournament in the 2022-2023 season and holds a 12-9-1 record amid the 2023-2024 season.

Since her commitment, Stonehouse has been on the OWHL Waterloo Ravens and served as a part of the U18 Canadian national team.

Team Canada will face Finland in the preliminary round at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9.
