It’s that time of year again, folks.

Throughout the week, Instagram feeds were filled with endless bid day posts. For many college-aged girls, bid day is like Christmas morning or winning a trip to Disney World. Usually involving matching t-shirts, an attention-grabbing theme name, and decked-out venues, this year’s bid day saw some creative and well-executed themes.

Without further ado, here’s Onward State’s official ranking of the bid day 2024 themes.

18. Alpha Sigma Alpha — ???

Due to a lack of clarity in theme and execution, Alpha Sigma Alpha’s first official bid day was a swing and a miss. Better luck next year, team.

17. Delta Phi Epsilon — “Troop 1917”

If you’re going to pull off this theme, at least have Girl Scout cookies in hand. Despite their scout skills, the ladies of Delta Phi Epsilon got lost in this theme. These scouts earned their creativity badge, but they’re still working on earning their bid day theme badge.

16. Alpha Xi Delta — “Xi Ride Of Your Life”

To put it bluntly, this theme lacks everything from creativity to execution. We’d rather walk.

15.  Alpha Delta Pi — “Ride Or Dies”

This is the same concept as Alpha Xi, but at least Alpha Delta Pi had cool sunglasses. It’s giving Lightning McQueen. Kachow, ADPI.

14. Alpha Omicron Pi — “Take Me Home”

Alpha Omicron Pi rounded up its new pledges with a rodeo-themed bid day. Although the theme concept is pretty solid, it’s more fitting for West Virginia than Happy Valley.

13. Kappa Alpha Theta — “Love Shack Theta”

Unfortunately, this theme isn’t inspired by B-52’s song “Love Shack.” The clothing brand-inspired theme left many confused as to what the pink bows were all about. However, this theme is a first, so we’ll take it.

12. Sigma Kappa — “Snow Place Like SK”

The girls of Sig Kap were “walking in a winter wonderland” this bid day. The fits are solid, but they could’ve done more with the decorations. Do you wanna build a snowman, Sigma Kappa?

11. Kappa Kappa Gamma — “The Perfect Fit”

Similar to Gamma Phi Beta’s “GPhi Is In Our Genes” theme last year, Kappa Kappa Gamma executed its own spin on the jean theme. KKG’s new pledge class might be a perfect fit, but its theme missed the mark. However, it utilized jeans in a cool way, so it gets bonus points.

10. Sigma Delta Tau — “Sig Delt Disco”

A moon bounce and disco balls? Sign us up. The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau got into the groove this bid day, dancing all the way home. Although the theme lacked originality, the execution and vibes were spot on.

9. Zeta Tau Alpha — “All Signs Point To ZTA”

“Concentrate and ask again.” Just kidding.

The magic eight ball predicted Zeta Tau Alpha’s pledge class would run right home. The concept is unique. However, we’re not really sure how the disco balls fit in. ZTA definitely could’ve used a few more signs. 

8. Pi Beta Phi — “Pi Phi Land”

Remember that board game you used to play with your family when you were little? Well, now it’s all grown up. Pi Beta Phi’s theme was as sweet as its new pledge class with candy chokers and all, showing dedication to its theme.

7. Delta Zeta — “Cherry On Top”

Delta Zeta’s new pledge class will cherry-ish bid day forever. The balloons and decor were larger than life, securing it a spot in the top 10.

6. Kappa Delta — “Scored Big With PC ’24”

Are. You. Ready? For. K-D. Football?

The sisters of Kappa Delta scored a touchdown with its pledge class this year. The varsity jackets, football theme, and dog mascot make this team perfect for Big Ten football.

5. Gamma Phi Beta — “Somewhere in the Crowd There’s PC ’24”

“Gimme, Gimme, Gamma Phi” would’ve been a better theme name, but overall the execution was spot on and bid night looked like a fun time. Besides, who doesn’t love ABBA?

4. Delta Gamma — “Life’s Better With DG” (Coke)

Share a Coke with DG.

The sisters of Delta Gamma showed off their bubbly side with their Coca-Cola theme. It’s too bad we’re a Pepsi school…

3. Phi Sigma Sigma — “My My Miss American Phi”

“You look like the fourth of July.” Literally.

Phi Sig showed out and stayed true to the red, white, and blue. This theme gives major family barbecue vibes in the best way possible.

2. Alpha Phi — “Fly Home To APhi”

Alpha Phi’s pledge class ~took a flight~ to its new home. Between the execution of the theme and the concept, the ladies of APhi secured a spot in the top three. These girls definitely flew “first class up in the sky.”

1. Sigma Sigma Sigma — “Sigma State Of Mind”

Between the theme, execution, fits, and vibes, the New Yorkers ladies of Tri Sig take the crown for the best sorority Bid Day 2024 theme. “Sigma State of Mind” is genius, and we can’t get enough of the banners and Sigma’s spin on “I Heart NY” t-shirts. The creativity and use of one of the best frat songs in the universe sets Tri Sig’s theme apart from the others.
