Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Jumps Two Spots, Women’s Lacrosse Ranked No. 17 In Inside Lacrosse Poll
Penn State men’s lacrosse jumped two spots to No. 13, and Penn State women’s lacrosse is ranked No. 17 in the latest Inside Lacrosse poll released Monday.
The rise for men’s lacrosse came after an 18-10 victory over Villanova on Saturday. Matt Traynor had six goals and Kyle Lehman and TJ Malone each netted three goals for the Nittany Lions. Penn State is back on the climb after falling 11 spots last week following a 13-12 loss to Colgate.
Penn State women’s lacrosse began its season in the top 20 as it is slotted in at No. 17 with 190 votes. The Nittany Lions ranked behind four other Big Ten schools including No. 1 Northwestern, No. 9 Maryland, No. 10 Michigan, and No. 15 USC.
Missy Doherty and Co. will begin its season on the road against Bucknell at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13. Jeff Tambroni’s group will travel to Stony Brook for its first road challenge at noon on Saturday, February 17.
