Penn State Men’s Volleyball Holds At No. 9 In AVCA Poll, Michal Kowal Earns EIVA Honor

Penn State men’s volleyball remained at No. 9 again this week in the latest AVCA poll released Monday evening.

Penn State played only one match this past weekend and defeated Fairleigh Dickinson in four sets. Last week, Penn State fell one spot after sweeping No. 15 Ball State and losing in five sets to Purdue Fort Wayne.

Michal Kowal was also named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after he hit .697 on 33 attacks for 24 kills and only one error against the Knights. Last week against Purdue Fort Wayne, Kowal hit .383 for a career-high 25 kills and registered three aces, too.

Penn State begins EIVA conference play on the road against Princeton at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 16.
