[Photo Story] Happy Valley In The Style Of Wes Anderson

Has anyone seen “The Grand Budapest Hotel?”

Film director Wes Anderson is known for his eccentric style, characterized by bright pastel colors, muted contrast, and a love for head-on symmetry. To have some fun with photo editing, our staff tried to recreate Anderson’s aesthetic with some photos of Happy Valley.

Many of the bars in downtown State College fit Anderson’s style.

However, the bars aren’t nearly the only Anderson-inclined settings downtown.

Inside and out, State College looks quite cinematic in this style.

Moving across College Avenue, some of campus’ most iconic buildings also shine in the aesthetic.

The east side of campus has some pretty cool symmetry, too.

Finally, in honor of Anderson’s love of symmetry, we edited an old “Stripe Out” photo in his style.
