Penn State Men’s Hockey Forward Aiden Fink Named Big Ten Freshman Of The Year Finalist

Penn State men’s hockey freshman forward Aiden Fink was tabbed as one of three finalists for the Big Ten Freshman of the Year distinction.

Fink’s honor is the first time since the 2019-20 season that Penn State has had a finalist for a major conference award and Penn State’s first nomination for Freshman of the Year since the inception of the award in 2017-18.

Fink is joined by Michigan State’s Artyom Levshunov and Minnesota’s Sam Rinzel as finalists.

Fink was named a Big Ten Star of the Week three times this season along with earning the HCA National Rookie of the Month in November. His accolades continue as he was named a 2024 Hobey Baker Award Nominee and included on the Tim Taylor Rookie of the Year watch list.

Fink ended the season leading the Nittany Lions in goals and points. He recorded 34 points and 15 goals, including three multi-goal games. His 34 points lead all conference freshmen.

All major awards for the Big Ten will be announced on Tuesday, March 19.
