[Photo Story] Penn State Women’s Hockey’s 2023-24 Season

See you next year, Hockey Valley.

Penn State women’s hockey’s 2023-24 season is officially in the books. The team finished the season with a CHA Tournament Championship for the second year in a row before registering a first-round exit from the NCAA Tournament.

As always, our photographers were at Pegula Ice Arena this season to capture all of the shots, goals, and celebrations. Let’s take a look back at the season through the lenses of our photographers.

Penn State played fast and furious on the attack.

She shoots…

…and scores!

The Nittany Lions got gritty on face-offs and won 1,302 — equating to a .588 percentage.

You can’t have hockey without some pushing and shoving. Jeff Kampersal’s group tallied 128 total penalties and 322 total penalty minutes across the season.

One word: Intensity.

You can’t win CHA without some good defense. The Nittany Lions limited their opponents to 77 total goals throughout the season in contrast to Penn State’s 121.

Here’s to another great season by the Nittany Lions.
