Class Of 2024 Prospect Mason Gibson Decommits From Penn State Wrestling

Mason Gibson, a class of 2024 recruit, decommitted from Penn State wrestling, he announced Thursday via X.

Gibson initially committed to Penn State in November 2022, alongside his older brother, Erik, who recently finished his freshman season with the Nittany Lions.

A senior at Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Gibson was originally committed to Cornell before flipping to Penn State.

This past season, Gibson placed fourth at the PIAA Wrestling Championships in the 132-pound weight class.

Penn State still holds the No. 1 spot in the 2024 recruiting rankings, according to FloWrestling. The class includes No. 1-ranked Luke Lilledahl, a member of the 133-pound weight class.
