Penn State Men’s Volleyball Head Coach Mark Pavlik Named EIVA Coach Of The Year
Penn State men’s volleyball head coach Mark Pavlik was named Coach of the Year by the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) for the 10th time, the conference announced Tuesday. Pavilk’s honor came after the Nittany Lions’ undefeated season in conference play.
This year, Pavlik led Penn State to a dominant 21-6 record as it won all of its home matches. He went 10-0 in the EIVA and was ranked No. 8 in the nation at the end of the regular season. The Nittany Lions are the top seed in the conference tournament and have hosting rights throughout the entire competition.
Through his time as head coach, Pavlik has built the men’s volleyball program into a powerhouse and now leads all active National Collegiate Division (Division I-II) head coaches with his win total and ranks fifth overall among all collegiate men’s volleyball coaches. He has also won over 75% of his matches with a career record of 656-218.
On Thursday, April 18, Pavlik and his team enter the EIVA Tournament and kick off their first game at Rec Hall. The Nittany Lions will play the winner of Harvard and NJIT.
