Report: Penn State Hoops To Compete In 2024 Sunshine Slam

Penn State men’s basketball will compete in the 2024 Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach alongside Clemson, San Francisco, and Fordham, per Jon Rothstein of College Hoops Today. The in-season tournament is the first schedule report for the Nittany Lions in the 2024-25 season.

Dates and matchups have yet to be set for the tournament, per Rothstein. Last year, the tournament consisted of eight teams and ran from November 11-21.

Penn State is entering the second year of head coach Mike Rhoades’ tenure at the program’s helm. The Nittany Lions finished last season with a 16-17 record and missed the NIT. Penn State competed in one in-season tournament, the ESPN Events Invitational in Kissimmee, Florida, and lost three games in succession to Texas A&M, Butler, and VCU.
