Placekicker Matthew Parker Commits To Penn State Football As Preferred Walk-On

Central York High School kicker Matthew Parker has committed to Penn State football as a preferred walk-on, he announced on Twitter. The news came after he decommitted from West Virginia on Monday.

The 6’0″, 200-pound kicker holds the Pennsylvania state record for longest freekick made after connecting on a 54-yard attempt last year. The York, Pennsylvania, native will join a placekicker room that currently has Sander Sahaydak, Ryan Barker, and Chase Meyer vying for the starting spot.

Parker is the 13th player to commit to the recruiting Class of 2025 and the first since Kiandrea Barker committed in April. Prior to his commitment, the Nittany Lions had the ninth-ranked recruiting class in the nation, according to 247Sports.
