Four Penn State Women’s Lacrosse Players Selected To Big Ten All-Tournament Team

Four Penn State women’s lacrosse were named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team, the conference announced on Sunday. Kristin O’Neill, Gretchen Gilmore, Kayla Aberthany, and Ellie Hollin all earned recognition.

On the offensive end, O’Neill and Gilmore led the way for the Nittany Lions, combining for 20 points through three games. Gilmore was responsible for 15 of these, leading the team in goals. O’Neill recorded five points out of the midfield but was a huge part of Penn State’s transition offense and seemingly beat her defender downhill whenever she wanted.

Abernathy dominated the middle of the field with 27 draw controls and six points throughout. The midfielder reached her 200th career draw control in the game against Ohio State.

Hollin played a less glory-filled role for Penn State but received much-deserved recognition as well. The defender was in charge of guarding the most dangerous attacker for Penn State’s opponents all tournament long. This included matching up with 2023 Tewaaraton Award winner Izzy Scane in the Big Ten Tournament championship game.

The Nittany Lions will continue their season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against James Madison University. This game will take place on Friday, May 10, on Maryland’s campus.
