Penn State Hoops To Play In Sunshine Slam In November

Penn State men’s basketball will head to Daytona Beach, Florida, to play in the Sunshine Slam from November 25-26, the event announced Thursday morning.

The Nittany Lions will compete at the Ocean Center in the Beach bracket with Clemson, Fordham, and San Francisco. A bracket has not yet been released. Penn State’s participation in the event was first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein in April.

Penn State will also play a neutral site game against Virginia Tech on November 15 in Baltimore, Maryland, in the Hall of Fame Series.

Penn State finished last season with a 16-17 overall record and went 9-11 in Big Ten play in Mike Rhoades’ first season. The team will welcome nine new players, including four transfers, to next season’s roster.

Tickets for the Sunshine Slam can be purchased here or at the arena during the event.
