Four-Star Edge Rusher Cortez Harris Commits To Penn State Football

Class of 2025 four-star edge rusher Cortez Harris has committed to Penn State football, he announced Sunday. Harris was the third commit of a busy weekend for the Nittany Lions, following three-star safety Braswell Thomas and four-star running back Jabree Wallace-Coleman.

Harris, a native of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is rated as the No. 20 edge rusher in the country and fifth-best overall player in his home state, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. While the Nittany Lions ranking has fluctuated during the weekend, 247Sports placed Penn State’s recruiting class as the 11th-best in the country prior to Harris’ commitment.

Harris commitment filled a large hole in the Nittany Lions’ recruiting as the first defensive lineman to commit to the program’s recruiting class of 2025. After Alvin Henderson and DJ McClary flipped their commitments from Penn State over the weekend, the 6’2″, 200-pound Harris is rated as the fifth-best player in Penn State’s class, per the 247Sports Composite.
