Penn State Hoops’ Favour Aire Transfers To Bryant

Former Penn State men’s basketball forward Favour Aire has committed to transfer to Bryant, he announced Saturday. Aire spent one year with the Nittany Lions before his departure.

Aire was recruited by Mike Rhoades last spring after the former VCU head coach took the Penn State job. The Ekpoma, Nigeria, native spent his freshman season at Miami (Florida) before transferring to Penn State.

The sophomore was expected to see plenty of time off the bench as a big man behind Qudus Wahab, but an early season hand injury set Aire back. The 6’11” forward never overcame the early season setback, only appearing in 12 games for the Nittany Lions, where he averaged 4.8 minutes, 0.6 points, and one rebound per game. Aire will look to find more consistent minutes at his new home next season.

As a freshman with the Hurricanes, Aire averaged 2.9 minutes and 0.6 points per game. Miami dazzled its way to the Final Four in Houston last season.
