Report: Penn State Hoops Associate Head Coach Jamal Brunt Taking A Job At Syracuse

Penn State men’s basketball associate head coach Jamal Brunt is leaving Happy Valley for a role at Syracuse, according to Jon Sauber of the Centre Daily Times.

Brunt has been an assistant coach under Mike Rhoades since 2018 at VCU and has been with the Nittany Lions for three years now. Brunt was mostly in charge of running the team’s defense, which produced strong metrics in the first two years of the Rhaodes era.

The Nittany Lions have now lost two assistant coaches this offseason. Joe Crispin also departed the program to become the head coach at Air Force.
