Penn State Women’s Soccer Opens At No. 4 In United Soccer Coaches Poll

We’re another day closer to Penn State soccer, folks.

Penn State women’s soccer checked in at No. 4 in the opening edition of this season’s United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Nittany Lions placed one spot higher than the No. 5 ranking from the final poll of the 2023 season.

Penn State finished last season with an NCAA Tournament run to the quarterfinals, as the Nittany Lions lost 2-1 to Clemson. They also fell short of a Big Ten trophy, as a loss to Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament eliminated the Nittany Lions in the semifinals, while a loss to Wisconsin on the final matchday of the regular season stripped them of a regular season trophy.

Penn State is set to kick off its 2024 season against Texas Tech on Thursday, August 15, and will be the first Penn State NCAA team to play a regulation match in the 2024-25 academic year.
