Penn State Football’s DaKaari Nelson Now Playing Linebacker

Update, 10:58 a.m. on Monday, August 19:

According to Penn State’s roster, DaKaari Nelson is now officially listed as a linebacker.

Original Story:

Penn State football’s DaKaari Nelson has made the position switch to linebacker, per Sean Fitz of On3. Nelson came to Penn State as a safety and is still listed as such on Penn State Athletics’ website.

Nelson, a redshirt freshman, appeared in two games last year. He recorded no defensive statistics. As of Sunday afternoon, Nelson is listed at 6’3″ and 217 pounds by Penn State.

Nelson will serve as an addition to a linebacker room after the loss of Kaveion Keys, who was removed from the team alongside Jameial Lyons.
