Penn State Ranked No. 7 By Playbill For Best 2023-24 Broadway Actors

With alumni performing in 20 different plays, Penn State was ranked No. 7 by Playbill in early September in alumni presence on Broadway.

With over 25 alumni currently working on Broadway, Penn State ranks among the top performing arts schools. The university sat behind, in order, NYU, Michigan, Carnegie Mellon, American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Pace, Yale, Julliard, and Cincinnati, many of which were tied for their positions.

Some Penn Staters that received recognition include Keely Beirne (“Aladdin”), Audrey Cardwell (“Shucked”), Jessie Davidson (“Six”), Olivia Dei Cicchi (“Wicked”), Kevin Clay (“The Book of Mormon”), Allyson Kaye Daniel (“The Wiz”), and Rachel Fairbanks (“Camelot”), to name a few.

Penn State’s musical theatre program and alumni have gained more recognition within the past year, as Penn State alum Lily Ling became the first female and East-Asian director of “Hamilton” on Broadway.

“Wicked” currently holds the most Penn Staters with six alumni performing the show on Broadway.
