[Photo Story] Blooming Petals Flower Farm In Bellefonte

Business is blooming!

Blooming Petals Flower Farm, a specialty-cut flower farm in Bellefonte, opened over the summer in mid-July. The farm is perfect for a day getaway, photo ops, and much more.

To check out one of the more beautiful parts of Bellefonte, our photographers ventured just outside of State College for their own photo op.

The flowers coming out of the summer months are still in full bloom and will stay that way until Bellefonte’s first hard freeze. As more people cut and take home flowers, the longer the farm will live and flourish.

The owner of the farm, Jennifer Moyer, grew up right across the street. After moving away from Bellefonte in 2001, she knew that when she came home, she wanted to keep pursuing her career in agriculture.

“I wanted to do something pretty, and I love flowers,” Moyer said. “So I thought if I tried this, maybe people would want to come looking for things to do when it’s a nice day and take a nice pretty bouquet home.”

Moyer plans to have more flower sizes and options for people to choose from next year.

“Our goal is to double at least what we have right now,” Moyer said. “Since it is our first year, we wanted to start small to see how it goes. But we have had a really good year, so we are definitely looking forward to our next one.”

Customers can choose to put their picked flowers in a cup, a metal vase, or a bucket.

Around the farm, pickets are placed with the names of all the flowers in their respective rows.

Maybe the real adventure at the flower farm was the friends we met along the way.

Don’t forget about the tomatoes!

There are always a few more flowers to pick for the road.

If you want to check it out, Blooming Petals Flower Farm is located at 1863 Nittany Valley Drive in Bellefonte. You can also follow the farm on Instagram and Facebook.
