Three-Star Forward Mason Blackwood Commits To Penn State Hoops

Class of 2025 three-star forward Mason Blackwood has pledged his commitment to Penn State men’s basketball, he announced Wednesday. Blackwood joined center Justin Houser as the first two Nittany Lion commitments in the recruiting class of 2025.

Blackwood hails from New Hampton High School in New Hampshire. The 6’7″ small forward is rated as the 35th-best small forward in the country and the fourth-best player in his home state, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Blackwood, who took official visits to Penn State on September 6 and Rutgers on June 26, picked the Nittany Lions over the Scarlet Knights but also held offers from Albany, Boston College, and others.
