University Police & Public Safety To Hold Safety Fair September 18

University Police and Public Safety (UPPS) will host a safety fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, at the HUB entrance on Pollock Road.

The UPPS patrol division and emergency vehicles will be in attendance as well as specialized groups, including the K9 unit, bomb and tactical response teams, physical security, drone teams, and more. First responder groups Alpha Fire and EMS plan to join the fair, too.

“This event provides a great opportunity for Penn State students and employees to get to know their University Park campus police officers, administrators, and staff,” Wesley Sheets, chief of University Police and Public Safety, said in a release. “All are encouraged to stop by and learn more about UPPS and the programs and services the department offers to keep our communities safe.”

The UPPS and its partners plan to use the fair to share information with the student body and show the role it holds at University Park. There will also be information on open police officer and student auxiliary officer positions.
