Penn State Hoops, Lady Lions Announce ‘Return To Rec’ Games

Penn State men’s basketball is set to host Ohio State in its ‘Return to Rec’ game on Thursday, January 30, in Rec Hall, Penn State athletics announced Wednesday afternoon. Penn State women’s basketball will also play in Rec Hall on January 29 against Maryland.

The Nittany Lions split their season series with Ohio State 1-1 last year, winning in the Bryce Jordan Center in the second Big Ten game of the season and losing in Columbus later in the season.

Last year’s game in Rec Hall for the Nittany Lions resulted in a come-from-behind upset victory over then-No. 12 Illinois, resulting in a court-storming.

Penn State women’s basketball also played in a Return to Rec game last season but ended up on the other side in an 82-69 defeat to Ohio State. The Buckeyes were ranked No. 2 at the time.

Prior to playing in Rec Hall, the men’s team will open its season on Monday, November 4, against Binghamton. The Lady Lions are scheduled to play Bucknell on the same day. Both games are at home, but times are yet to be announced.
