Brainstorming Penn State-Themed White Noise To Fall Asleep To
Falling asleep isn’t always easy, especially as the weather gets colder and time outside decreases.
Sometimes, the trick is just a little white noise to fall asleep to. However, there isn’t any white noise that brings out the true blue-and-white spirit.
So, we decided to brainstorm some Penn State-themed white noise that could help you fall asleep.
Acorns Falling
While it’s dangerous being under the trees in Happy Valley during the fall due to acorns dropping at a rapid rate, knowing you’re on the other side of a wall could be relaxing and help you fall asleep. There’s nothing like hearing your walk up the Allen Street mall as you turn off the lights.
Rain
This is actually a real sound folks use to fall asleep and with the way the weather’s been in State College the last couple of weeks, it certainly won’t be hard to come by. There’s no need to get a speaker out for this one — you can just crack a window.
Alma Mater
When you’re at a Penn State game, the Alma Mater is the best way to wind down at the end. There’s no reason for that to be any different when you hop in bed at the end of the day. If you want to have nightmares, you can add Nick Dawkins screaming at you to sing the Alma Mater into the background.
Old Main Bells
This one is self-explanatory. There’s nothing more peaceful than hearing the Old Main bells in the distance as you drift off. If you live close enough to Old Main, you probably hear this one already.
Willard Preacher Yelling
Maybe this is soothing for some. Be careful, though, this sound gives a lot of people nightmares. Mostly, you’ll feel guilty for the way you’re living your life.
Crowd Noise
If you dial the Beaver Stadium crowd down a lot, it would genuinely make for a great sound to fall asleep to. Pretend it’s third down in the fourth quarter…but the calm version of that. Maybe pick crowd noise from the Kent State game?
Lion Roar
Put it on repeat and fall asleep. Rawr.
