Ace Baldwin Jr. Named Big Ten Defensive Player Of The Year For Second Straight Season

Penn State men’s basketball point guard Ace Baldwin Jr. was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday.
Baldwin received the honor for the second consecutive season after leading the conference with 2.4 steals per game. The fifth-year senior from Baltimore, Maryland, also racked up 14 points and 7.1 assists per contest, both good for a team-high.
Baldwin was also voted an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by both the conference’s coaches and a media voting poll, while junior Yanic Konan Niederhauser was named an honorable mention by the media.
The Nittany Lions finished the season 16-15 and 6-14 in Big Ten play, failing to qualify for the conference tournament.
