Penn State Basketball ‘Ball At East Halls’ To Return October 15

The Penn State men’s and women’s basketball teams are set to return to the East Halls basketball courts for its second “Balls at East Halls” event from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15.

Head coaches Mike Rhoades and Carolyn Kieger’s teams will both be present at the event, which will feature basketball-related contests with both players and students participating, prizes for students, food trucks, and more.

Rhoades is entering his second year as Penn State’s head coach after amassing a 16-17 record with a 9-11 in-conference record. Rhoades had a few notable wins, recording upsets over No. 11 Wisconsin and No. 12 Illinois. The Nittany Lions are returning star power in reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Ace Baldwin Jr., along with Puff Johnson, Nick Kern Jr., and others.

The Nittany Lions will start their season on Monday, November 4, at home against Binghamton.

Kieger’s Lady Lions are coming off their best year yet under the sixth-year head coach. Penn State reached the WBIT semifinals, falling to Villanova. The team lost several star players over the offseason to NCAA eligibility and the transfer portal, including Shay Ciezki, Makenna Marisa, Ashley Owusu, and Leilani Kapinus.

The Lady Lions will start their season on Monday, November 4, at home against Bucknell.
