Another Loaded Gun Seized At State College Regional Airport

The Transportation Security Agency (TSA) seized a handgun at State College Regional Airport on Tuesday, the organization announced in a release. This was the second such incident at the airport in the last month.

The .357 caliber firearm was loaded with five bullets, according to the release. The weapon was caught as the man, a resident of Mifflin, Pennsylvania, entered the security checkpoint. The X-ray unit alerted on the firearm, which was in the man’s carry-on bag.

TSA officials notified the police, who allowed the man to exit the airport with his firearm, per the release. Civil penalties for carrying weapons can reach a maximum of $15,000.

The incident came a month after another man was caught bringing a loaded handgun into the airport. The 9mm handgun was loaded with nine bullets. The man was allowed to return the gun to his car but still faces punishment.
