Brainstorming More Penn State-Specific NIL Deals That Just Make Sense

College football and pancakes? Yes, please.

The NIL era of college football has allowed student-athletes to capitalize on their name, image, and likeness with unique sponsorships. College athletes all around the country have taken advantage of the new NIL rules to get sponsorships from all sorts of brands. From shoe brands to car dealerships to candy bars, brands all over the country are partnering with athletes in fun and creative ways.

Last year, we brainstormed some NIL deals for Penn State student-athletes, so we thought we’d do it again this year with some more student-athletes. Let’s take a look at what we came up with.

Alli Campbell: Campbell’s Soup

Last year, Lady Lion’s guard Alli Campbell appeared in 25 games, with 32 assists and 19 steals. This year, as a graduate student, she’ll likely play a bigger role within the team and get even more playing time.

With this increased playing time and national attention, it would make sense for her to get a sponsorship with a nationally recognized brand, especially one like Campbell’s Soup, a company she shares a name with.

Vega Ioane: Mrs. Butterworth’s

Penn State offensive lineman Vega Ioane gained some national attention a few weeks ago for an impressive block on a UCLA defensive player.

After that impressive “pancake” block, it would only make sense for Vega to get an NIL sponsorship from a major pancake company like Mrs. Butterworth’s Syrup. I picked a syrup company because it seems like Ioane can provide the pancakes himself.

Ace Baldwin Jr.: Bicycle Playing Cards

With a name like “Ace,” it would only make sense for the star of Penn State men’s basketball to be sponsored by the world’s premier playing card company. For extra company exposure, he could flash the ace of spades to the camera after hitting a big shot.

Tyseer Denmark: Lego

Legos are awesome — I think everyone knows that. What some of you may not know is that the Lego Company was founded and is still based in Denmark, so it would only make sense for them to sponsor Penn State football freshman Tyseer Denmark.

Kayleigh Herr: Herr’s Snacks

Herr’s Snacks is a Pennsylvania-based company, so it would only make sense for it to sponsor Penn State women’s soccer defender Kayleigh Herr. Hopefully, Penn State’s Utz Snacks sponsorship doesn’t get in the way.

Tyler Warren: Purina Dog Food

Why? Because he’s a DAWG.
