David McCormick To Campaign At Penn State-Ohio State Tailgate

Joe Lister contributed to this post.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate David McCormick is set to host a campaign tailgate at Penn State ahead of Penn State football’s November 2 game against Ohio State, the Penn State College Republicans told Onward State.

Folks can find McCormick and his campaign at 9 a.m. that Saturday morning in Lot 41, spot No. 330. The Nittany Lions and Buckeyes will kick off at noon.

McCormick is challenging incumbent Democrat Bob Casey for a Pennsylvania Senate seat. Casey has held the seat since 2007.

McCormick, a former businessman and CEO of Bridgewater Associates, initially ran for senate in 2022, losing to Mehmet Oz in the Republican primary. Oz lost to Democrat John Fetterman in the general election.

McCormick’s visit to State College will be one of many by politicians in the past few weeks. Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy spoke at the Sparks Building on Thursday, October 17, and Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared at the State Theatre on Friday, October 18. Donald Trump is set to hold a rally at the Bryce Jordan Center at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 26.

Five Democratic Governors visited State College on Sunday, October 20, as part of the “Blue Wall Bus Tour”, and the “Team Trump Bus Tour” stopped at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Tuesday, October 22.
