Penn State Women’s Volleyball Inks Five Recruits On National Signing Day

Penn State women’s volleyball took its picks from the recruiting class of 2025 and signed five new additions on Wednesday. Three outside hitters, one middle blocker, and one libero will join the Nittany Lions next fall.

Lexi Gin

Lexi Gin, a 5’6″ libero and defensive specialist, will join the Nittany Lions’ roster next fall. Gin played for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School and Munciana Volleyball Club. The Indianapolis, Indiana, native recorded 1,446 total digs in her high school career, along with 957 total receptions, per her MaxPreps profile. Gin originally committed to the Nittany Lions in June 2023.

Marin Collins

National Signing Day solidified Marin Collins’ commitment to the squad as well. She was the first of the five new Nittany Lions to make a verbal commitment to the team in June 2023. Hailing from Lake View, New York, Collins stands as a 6’4″ outside hitter and is the highest-ranked recruit in her class. She played for Frontier Central High School and Niagara Frontier’s club team. She tallied 478 kills to cap her successful senior season, per MaxPreps

Alexis Ewing

Bethesda, Maryland, native Alexis Ewing will be a Nittany Lion in 2025. The dominant 6’4″ outside hitter averaged four kills per set in her senior year at Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, and totaled 392 kills in her varsity career, according to MaxPreps. Ewing is the daughter of former NBA star Patrick Ewing and Long Beach State volleyball legend Cheryl Weaver.

Gabrielle Nichols

Gabrielle Nichols, a middle blocker from Syracuse, New York, committed to Penn State in July 2023. Nichols played varsity ball at Reagan High School and competed with VolleyFX Mantra at the club level. With only beginning high school volleyball in the 2023-24 season, she impressively managed 500 kills over just two seasons of play, per MaxPreps

Ava Jurevicius

The family tradition continued with signee Ava Jurevicius, who will join her older sister, redshirt freshman Caroline Jurevicius, on the court next fall. The pair are the daughters of former Penn State football player Joe Jurevicius. The youngest Jurevicius plays outside hitter and helped lead Lincoln Lutheran’s varsity team to rank fourth in the state and first in its district this past season. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Jurevicius moved to Nebraska for her junior year to play for Lincoln Lutheran and her club team, VCNebraska.
