Tyler Warren Named Big Ten Offensive Player Of The Week

Penn State football tight end Tyler Warren was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after another phenomenal outing in Penn State’s 49-10 dismantling of Purdue. It was the star tight end’s second time earning the award this season, having previously won it after his record-breaking day against USC.

Warren tallied eight receptions for 127 yards and one touchdown on the receiving end against the Boilermakers. It was his fourth career 100-yard receiving game, which tied the Penn State tight end record.

Warren also carried the ball three times and rushed for 63 yards and a score, topped off by an impressive 48-yard touchdown burst off a direct snap early in the third quarter. It was Warren’s sixth career rushing touchdown and his fourth of the season. He is the only Big Ten tight end with four rushing touchdowns in a season since 1956.

Warren and the Nittany Lions next head to the Twin Cities to take on Minnesota at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, at TCF Bank Stadium. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
