Penn State Men’s Soccer Alum Ben Dawson Leading Leicester City In Interim Role

Penn State men’s soccer alumnus Ben Dawson has been selected to lead training for the Premier League’s Leicester City after the club fired its manager, Steve Cooper, on Sunday. Dawson will be helped by Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, according to the club’s announcement.

Dawson attended Penn State from 1999 to 2002 and played for the Nittany Lions while earning his bachelor’s degree in recreational management. He was named First-Team All-Big Ten in 2001. After graduating from Penn State, he received his graduate degree from Northumbria University.

Dawson took on a role as a first team coach with Leicester in June after spending 10 years at Newcastle United. He began working with the U21 side as a developmental coach before earning promotions as head of coaching and the first team developmental coach.
