Saquon Barkley Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Month

We all saw this one coming, folks.

Former Penn State football running back Saquon Barkley was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for November after a string of stellar performances for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Barkley totaled 626 rushing yards, 151 receiving yards, and six total touchdowns in four games played in November. Most notably, he rushed for a career high and Eagles franchise record 255 yards in Philadelphia’s week 12 thrashing of the Los Angeles Rams. He also broke the Eagles’ franchise in scrimmage yards with 302 and scored two rushing touchdowns in the encounter. Barkley’s performance earned him his fourth NFC Offensive Player of the Week award this season.

In addition, Barkley rushed for 371 yards in Philadelphia’s other three November games combined, coupled with three rushing touchdowns and a receiving score spanning those games.

Barkley has taken full advantage of his opportunity with the Eagles and has revitalized his career. He leads the NFL in rushing yards with 1,499 and is tied for second in rushing touchdowns with 11. He was instrumental in Philadelphia’s “no loss November” and its eight-game win streak that has the Eagles in position to possibly clinch a playoff berth on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
