Penn State Alumni Association to Host B1G Events in Indy This Weekend

Leading up to Saturday night’s Big Ten Championship between Penn State and Oregon, the Penn State Alumni Association will host a Friday night mixer and a game day Roar Tour Pep Rally in Indianapolis. These events will unite alumni and friends leading up to the 8 p.m. contest between Penn State and Oregon.

FRIDAY NIGHT MIXER
Penn Staters are encouraged to sign up now for the Friday night mixer, as there will be limited capacity, and the event is expected to sell out. The mixer is set for 7-9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6, at Nevermore Union Station, located at 302 S. Meridan St., Indianapolis. An admission fee includes an open bar and appetizers, with members receiving a discount.

ROAR TOUR PEP RALLY
On Saturday afternoon, the Alumni Association will host a Roar Tour Pep Rally at the Indiana Convention Center, in Exhibit Hall D. This free Official Penn State Pep Rally features appearances by the Penn State Spirit Squad, Nittany Lion, Penn State Blue Band, and special guests. Wristbands are required for admission to the pep rally and will be distributed first-come, first-served, beginning at 11 a.m. outside Exhibit Hall D. Food and drinks (including alcohol) will be available for purchase at the convention center when doors open at 3 p.m., and the pep rally will begin at 4 p.m. The pep rally space will accommodate up to 5,000 people, and then admission will need to end. Penn Staters are encouraged to pick up their wristbands promptly at 11 a.m.

PENN STATE HANGOUT
The Slippery Noodle Inn, located at 372 S. Meridian St., has been designated as a Penn State hangout for the weekend. Penn Staters are welcome to stop by anytime during the weekend to connect with fellow alumni and friends. No formal programming is scheduled for this venue, though it’ll serve as a home base for Penn Staters looking to enjoy time with one another.

WATCHING FROM HOME
Penn Staters not traveling to Indianapolis can watch the pep rally livestream on Facebook and find their local chapter for a watch party. The Alumni Association has more than 100 alumni chapters across the country and many host watch parties. Many listings have links for the chapter’s website, social channels, and contact info. Penn Staters can also browse a list of group events for chapter watch parties. The events page may not list all watch parties that are planned. If you don’t see a watch party for your local chapter, we recommend finding your chapter on our groups page and visiting your chapter’s website or social channels or emailing the president.

No. 3 Penn State (11-1) and No. 1 Oregon (12-0) will meet for the first time since the Nittany Lions’ 38-20 triumph in the 1995 Rose Bowl to cap their undefeated, untied 12-0 season. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m., with CBS broadcasting the game from Lucas Oil Stadium. Penn State reached 11 wins in a season for the 20th time in program history and for the fifth time under head coach James Franklin (2016, 2017, 2019, 2022).
