Your Official Big Ten Championship Drinking Game

Duck, Duck, Drink.

Folks, it happened. After Ohio State’s loss to unranked Michigan and the Nittany Lions’ dominant win over Maryland, Penn State clinched a spot against Oregon in the Big Ten Championship game.

While the Nittany Lions are 3.5-point underdogs to the Ducks, they’re still playing in a game that seemed out of reach just last week, giving us many reasons to drink celebrate.

Whether you are making the journey to Lucas Oil Stadium or will be feeling the effects of a bit too many drinks at Phi Whoville, put on your Saquon Barkley jersey. For good luck from the last time the Nittany Lions played and won the Big Ten Championship in 2016, crack open a cold one and get ready for this week’s official drinking game.

  • To start off, take a shot. The Nittany Lions are actually playing in the Big Ten Championship.
  • Take another shot. The Nittany Lions are playing No. 1 Oregon in the Big Ten Championship.
  • Take a sip if the announcers mention the last time Penn State played in Lucas Oil was in 2016. Ah, the good old days.
  • If Penn State wins the coin toss, take a nice longggg sip. You’ll probably need it for this game.
  • Chug your drink if Oregon scores first.
  • See a Penn Stater on the screen, cheer to them, and finish your drink.
  • If Drew Allar and Beau Pribula are both on the field at the same time, take a shot.
  • Tyler Warren touchdown? What else is new? Take a shot. #TightEndOfTheYear
  • Finish your drink if Penn State is up going into halftime.
    • If it’s not, finish whatever you’re drinking, crack open another one, and finish that, too.
  • Take a sip if Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Abdul Carter gets a sack. ST1X C1TY is a place.
  • Every timeout, take the opportunity to take a few sips.
  • Take a shot if the Nittany Lions get a pick-six.
  • Shotgun your drink if Kaytron Allen runs it in for a touchdown.
  • If Penn State wins, finish your drink, pop open a bottle of champagne, and celebrate. The Nittany Lions just beat the No. 1 team in the nation and get to bypass the first round of the College Football Playoff.
  • If the Nittany Lions fall short and lose, finish your drink and get cozy in State College, folks. We are projected to host the first round of the playoffs in Beaver Stadium.

As always, have fun, stay safe, and drink responsibly!
