Tyler Warren Receives One First-Place Vote For Heisman Trophy

Somebody knows ball.

Penn State football star tight end Tyler Warren received one first-place vote for the Heisman Trophy, which was awarded Saturday night. Warren finished in seventh place in Heisman voting with 52 total points, with 35 third-place votes and seven second-place votes.

A senior who’s expected to enter the NFL Draft after the 2024 season, Warren has been Penn State’s star all season long. He’s notched 88 receptions, 1,062 yards, and six touchdowns through the air plus 191 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Warren’s 17 career receiving touchdowns are the most by a tight end in Penn State history.

Warren’s seventh-place finish in Heisman voting was the best finish for a tight end since Ken McAfee of Notre Dame finished third in 1977. In 2024, Warren finished behind Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, Miami’s Cam Ward, Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, Arizona State’s Cam Skattebo, and Army’s Bryson Daily.

Warren and Penn State are less than a week from hosting SMU in the Nittany Lions’ first College Football Playoff game in Beaver Stadium. The game will kick off at noon on Saturday, December 21, and will air on TNT and stream on Max.
