Three-Star Wide Receiver Kyron Hudson Transfers To Penn State Football From USC

Penn State football is back in business.

The Nittany Lions have landed three-star wide receiver Kyron Hudson, the former USC Trojan announced Monday evening. Hudson became Penn State’s first addition from the transfer portal in the current cycle.

Hudson is rated as the No. 46 wide receiver and No. 30 overall Californian out of the portal, per 247Sports. The 6’1″, 205-pound wideout is a native of Duarte, California. In his redshirt junior season, Hudson had 462 receiving yards and three touchdowns for the Trojans.

He had four catches for 36 yards and a touchdown against Penn State on October 12 in Los Angeles. Against LSU in USC’s season opener, Hudson made a highlight reel catch to go along with five total catches for 83 yards.

Hudson has 807 yards and eight touchdowns over his three-year career and in 2024, he matched his touchdown total and exceeded his yards.

Hudson’s arrival addresses a glaring need at wideout, as Penn State doesn’t have a consistent No. 1 option. Trey Wallace leads the current group with 638 yards and four touchdowns, but Omari Evans, Liam Clifford, and Julian Fleming have been inconsistent. Additionally, true freshman Tyseer Denmark could see more playing time alongside Hudson next season.

Hudson is a product of powerhouse high school Mater Dei. Incoming four-star cornerback Daryus Dixson also played Mater Dei.
